So I have never bought a downloadable title from GameStop. Since it says it is Steamworks, I would assume it can (and must) be activated on Steam. Do they just send a CD-key for that?

It will tell you that you need to download a Gamestop App to get the key, but mine was sent to me in an email with the purchase receipt. Which is good, because I was not about to install an app just to get my key. :)

Nope. I would have first contacted them to see if there was any other way to get the code. If there was no other way, I would have either asked for a refund or set up a throwaway virtual machine to install the app for the code.

Probably would have gone the vm route since, as silly retail customer service practices go, installing an app just to get a code I purchased pales in comparison to some of the worst companies out there.

Either way, I'd have been much less likely to use their service again.

I wonder if halohorror is still with us as it was found and reported that GameStop app has a three month delayed self-destruct mechanism and comes loaded with 2lbs of C-4.
