It's been awhile since I've been on here (stupid HL2.exe errors!), but now that I'm cleansed of that evil crash... I've had some time to ponder a possible idea for a 'primary.'
The Ultimagnum
Level 5 Magnum
+15% Clip Size
No damage falloff
Mini-crits on headshots
Shots are highly accurate
No Random Critical Hits
25% reload penalty
10% slower attack speed
User cannot cloak while active
Let us settle this like "GENTLEMEN."
Lets break this down:
This weapon has 7 shots instead of 6
Is just as accurate as the Ambassador and doesn't lose accuracy by shooting, but only gets mini-crits upon a headshot
Damage delt is unaffected by distance to the target (in other words, if you're on a server with no damage spread, this weapon will almost always deal 40 damage)
This weapon takes longer to reload than revolvers and shoots somewhat slower
The Spy has to use BOTH hands to use this weapon, preventing him from utilizing his watches (no cloaking)!
What does "cannot cloak" mean to Spy? While The Ultimagnum is his active weapon, Spy cannot use his watch until he switches to something other than The Ultimagnum. If the Spy is already cloaked and switches to The Ultimagnum, the watch will immediately stop working and the Spy will uncloak. This in turn makes the DR and/or Spycicle a TERRIBLE pairing with The Ultimagnum!
However, this downside does allow the Spy to deal with lone pursuers more effectively since you do have 7 shots instead of 6. The reload penalty might cause issues with dealing with two or more chasers however since The Ultimagnum prevents usage and immediate cloaking.
If you're not in immediate danger, The Ultimagnum provides some very effective means of distant assassinations like the Ambassador, however you'll more than likely need more hits due to only doing mini-crits instead of full critical hits. The Ultimagnum is also more effective against Engineer buildings with that 7th round available and no damage penalties.
