So I have more than one bug in my game, help is appreciated immensley.

Alright, so I have only just started the game, haven't even gone in to the mansion in the prologue and feces is already coating the damn fan.

First, as soon as I gain control of Jack, every single key I press gives a little pinging noise, like when there's an error. I can still move him with the wasd keys fine, but that pinging has to go.

Second, the sensitivity is extremely high, 5 is default but even on 1 I can do a 720 by moving the mouse about 4 centimeters.

Lastly, I'm fairly sure the Esc key is supposed to bring up the menu with load/save/quit and such like. Yet, once pressed, the game freezes, kicks me out and proceeds to give me the "CoCmainwin32.exe has stopped working" message so I'm forced to close the whole game.

I've checked the rest of this forum and done searching on Google for people with similar issues but none have worked. I'm using Windows Vista Basic (I realise that's probably a major problem XD) But if anyone has a solution, I'd really like to know.

When I initially started playing I had the exact same problem. In a moment of rage and epiphany I alt tabbed out of the game and reselected it. Oddly enough it worked great afterwards.

I believe it has something to do with it being interupted by other windows processes.

Additionally, i had issues in a later area the "Jailbreak" chapter where my game continued to crash upon moving a bookshelf. Here i looked up how to run the game through steam in compatability mode and then faced away from the shelf and walked into it to avoid from crashing.
