Possibly a flash positive but I trust ESET more than I trust illfonic so I think that's it for me, time to uninstall.
I was going to update my other post (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2704216) with some actual arguments but I can't without the game installed. Hope you guys get some more play time out of it anyway, hf

go play quake

yeah we don't have any malware, spyware or anything of the nature in the game. you can quote me on this.

the game automatically sends crash reports back to servers without explicitly requiring your input unlike microsoft to collect data, on possibly your computer/configuration etc. could be considered spyway, though it shows a popup that it has done so. needs to prompt the user if sending private fking data. jeez-fking-zuz. and this game crashes all the time.

Using AVG and fine. You probably just got a false positive.

"Potentially unknown WIN32 virus"

Definitely a false positive.

@ bankaluser
No AV is immune from false positives. Even Avira had a nasty one recently which killed Windows installations.

NOD32 is actually one of the best AV apps out there right now and the developers have most likely already fixed the false positive by the time you read this.

Yeah, Deffo a false positive. I am using Avast! and no game on Steam has ever given me a problem. Just add nexuiz.exe as a exception. Sorted!

Dont you think the forums would be overflowing with complaints if this were true? Your trust is obviously misplaced. Tinfoil hat time!

My favorite part of TheUnreal's screenshot is that it identifies the .exe as "probably unknown Win32.exe virus."

CONCLUSIVE EVIDENCE

That explains it. False positive. Get off your high-horse OP

No doubt.

I recommend immediately acquiring a two-ply tin foil hat, and digging a underground bunker with at minimum a 5 year supply of rations.
