I was thinking about buying either Rainbow 6 3, Rainbow 6 Vegas of Vegas 2 for my brothers and me. We enjoy the tactical aspect and would enjoy playing missions or the campaign mode cooperatively. So, my questions are:

1) Do all three games let you play the campaign mode co-op online?
2) What are the differences between the three games. It looked like to me that R6:3 is more tactical while Vegas games seemed more arcade like but still somewhat tactical. Is that true?
3) Do the online games go well? It looks like they go through Ubisoft. Is that easy to set up? Can we do a private server?

Thanks!

James

1. All 3 allow coop campaign and terrorist hunt. Raven Shield(R63) allows coop up to either 8 or 16, I forget which. Vegas allows up to 4 in coop in both modes. Vegas 2 allows for 2 player coop story and 4 player coop Terrorist Hunt.

2. R63/RvS is easily the better game if you want to play tactical and not run and gun. The Vegas games are arcade games compared to RvS. One of my major complaints about the Vegas games is the boss battle with the helicopter in Vegas 2 on the final level. Whoever put that in the game deserves to be fired and never work on a video game again, even in testing.

3. Again, Raven Shield is the better option for online networking and netcode. The Vegas games are essentially broken online. Neither of them have a working dedicated server system, and both of them will have the login servers go down randomly and be down for a period of time. For all of them you just go online in the game and login to your Ubi account if you have one, or create one if you don't. Then you enter your CD key. In the Vegas games you will also need to create a character. All 3 games support private servers, although if you opt for RvS I'd look for a dedi to play on for coop just to make the connecting easier.

Thanks! Just the info I needed. I got my three brothers/in law to play Rainbow 6 3. It was awesome! If Vegas goes on a good sale, maybe we'll pick that one up too.
