Will the M1911 be back?

Come on even if its futuristic, they just can't remove the M1911!
I will take that personally and smack that guy at Treyarch who came up with this Idea.

No one knows details about confirmed weapons, only the ones seen in the trailer. And none of those were pistols except for that futuristic looking one.

Plus the M1911 isn't even that good. The M9, Deagle and Magnum/Revolver are much better.

Being that the M1911 was first designed in 1907 (later adopted by the US army in 1911, hence the name), and its parent being designed even further back in 1899, it would be really hilarious for it to appear in a game were drones and quadricopters are flying in the air along with giant metal walking machines.

Well considering that BO2 takes place only 8-9 years after MW2/MW3, I wouldn't rule out the M1911 appearance in BO2.

Funny, I don't remember the M1911 being in the MW2 multi-player. It does play prominently in the single player when Soap returns Price's 1911.

the design is considered very good, and has patriotic value etc

most of the time it only loses in mag capacity and compactness

you can still make a model that looks like it, but with more features
