Just imagine ArmA II OA as a Roles Royce and IF1944 as a soup-box trolley with buckled wheels.

Well I would go for OA. It's more mature and and costs only $20.
AND if you prefer the 2.WW-Scenario, you still have the possibility to play community mods. (btw: I've got both of them).

1.02 is not save-game compatible also try deleting your IF.config file, so that it is rewritten. It gets itself messed up.

Get OA then install invasion mod as its a similar game.
IF will get better but you may as well wait a little while before purchasing.

What he said, I would go with OA right now, cheaper and at least it works. I think with all the crashes and bugs in 1944 you will end up being very disappointed. Who knows how long it will take to fix this mess. Took Red Orchestra 2 half a year. In my opinion, get OA, and if you want a WWII experience then get some of the really nice WWII mod packages out there. Free, and they actually work.

I have a PhenomII x4 3.7GHzOC and a HD6850 820MHz. I can't touch this game even on low ugly settings(ArmA2 butter smooth). You be the judge.

It's a no brainer at this time. Steam should be reimbursing purchasers of Iron Front.

I also would like a refund. I can't see this mod ever being fixed, there is far to much wrong with it, and the team to small to fix the countless problems.
The only hope for this mod would be, if BI themselves, took over the project.
At the moment I wouldn't even download it for free.
I feel robbed.

@ OP you are better getting OA.
As already been stated OA is a more finished product than IF. It has WWII mods besides others like 'Project Reality' so you are getting more for your money and maybe purchase this when it has fixed the issues it obviously has.
