View Full Version : Does twitter integration work for anyone?

All I'm getting is "wrong username or password" - even though the data entered is 100% correct and works perfectly fine on twitter.com.

Two questions:
1. Did you change the date and time of your computer clock? Twitter won't grant access from external services if the date and time isn't within 5 minutes of their server time.
2. Does your password contain symbols? We have an update ready that should fix this but the released version may not support all symbols in passwords.
Let me know if neither of these help you out!

It works for most people, I'd wager. (Most people who tried it, anyway.) Worked for me.

I didn't fiddle with the time and had no intention of "cheating" that way so far (well, maybe eventually and just for the achievement).
My time is accurate and ntp synced. Log-In works via Firefox and Trillian and Tweetdeck and the official Android client without issues.
There is no firewall other than the Windows 7 native one.

Nope, no symbols at all - just good old letters and numbers. I even tried to use a test-account with the creative password "wordpass" - still, Sworcery complains about wrong username/password almost immediately.
But thanks for your help ... it's not really a feature that I really need (or are there any Twitter-related achievements?).

Ok, I managed to get it to work with one Twitter account but not the one I want to use it with. Checked all settings, changed the password to something ultra-simple, played with the timezone on twitter, toggled things like "always use https" etc. ... nothing, always getting "wrong username or password", absolutely no way to use that account with Sworcery - ah well, I give up.

Man, that is confusing! Where are you located? I suspect it's got something to do with how we communicate with the Twitter server.
You said you got an account to work? What's different about that account from your main one?
Also, there are no Twitter-related Achievements so you won't miss out on anything!

I currently reside in Germany.
I have one really old (as in first weeks of Twitter old) novelty account that works but that I don't want to use for anything gaming related and one more recent (still probably at least a year old) account that doesn't work.
I compared all the Twitter settings in both and adjusted those of the non-functional account to match those of the working one - the result is the same: the old one works, the other doesn't.
The only error message I'm getting is the wrong password/username one. It takes a little bit to show up on the first try but shows up immediately on every subsequent attempt.
No idea what the problem is, but as mentioned earlier, it's not a big deal and if I'm the only one affected there is absolutely no reason to waste time trying to fix this. I'm fine and I enjoyed the game perfectly fine without the "social media" integration.

Same problem here.
The first time I started the game, I went straight to settings and set the account, and it was accepted.
The next time I tried to use the tweet button, it asked for the password, and kept telling me that it's the wron password, until it eventually started telling that I'm not logged into Twitter, when in fact I am.

I had the same problem last night- tried to sign into Twitter with both the correct username/email and password, yet I was told it was incorrect. I wanted to voice my concern here as well right away, but my registration took a while to get verified.
I just went to try it again to make sure it was still acting up, and I was able to successfully connect to Twitter. So perhaps give it some time and try again? At least that's what worked for me.

If the exact same username/password works for you some of the time but doesn't work other times, it might be a problem on Twitter's end.
If, however, a certain username/password just never works, it's possible you're just making a typo or something...

Do you really want this game spamming your followers with game related nonsense? :D Isn't twitter already annoying enough? This is why I quit facebook. Too much fricken spam from farmville. Die in a fire zynga!

Twitter integration isn't working for me either, my password is all just letters and numbers although my username does have an _ in it.

I should also mention that I have a program called Little Snitch that blocks outgoing internet connections unless I authorize them, so you guys might have some sort of similar firewall...

Also having this problem. Tried changing my twitter password without symbols and still can't log in.

I don't get the "Wrong User/Pass" error, probably because I keep seeing the "Connection Failed" error. PeerBlocker isn't logging any blocked IPs, so I knot that's not the problem. It could be I'm using a satellite connection (though that's due to change, shortly).
