Field and crop help

Is there a method to tell which crop is in which field? I think this especially applies to multi fruit mods, but I can research and find which machines will harvest which crops, but I need someway to identify a crop which is already for harvesting at game start. Otherwise, my only recourse is to plow it under (if I can) and plant something myself so I can make note of what it is.
