Installation Folder Pathing:
A 'conversion' for the games default install folder path versus the Steam based install folder path. When you use the Knowledge Base (http://support.turbine.com) there will be quite a few articles that refer to the installation folder path which for Steam installs needs some converting slightly.
When you install onto 32bit Windows the path is:
C:\Program Files\Turbine\The Lord of the Rings Online
For 64bit Windows installs it is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Turbine\The Lord of the Rings Online
When installed through Steam this path changes slightly (the "Turbine" folder doesn't exist) instead it looks like this:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Common\The Lord of the Rings Online or
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\Common\The Lord of the Rings Online
These folder paths are the only major differences between the regular installation paths and the Steam versions, all the other items in most KB articles will be exactly the same other than those.
Info for launching via Steam for Windows Vista/7 users:
On occasion you may run into patching/updating or installing (pre-requisite items on first launch) issues, and often these might just be due to permissions. If you run into any issues or difficulties with these steps on the Lotro launcher after launching via Steam, try launching Steam using right-click > Run as Administrator. This should ensure that the launcher inherits permissions as admin it needs to update itself and its files.
