View Full Version : Anyone not going to buy it in protest of Blackops 1 lagging like hell on pc?

When I bought pre-ordered Blackops I had just had a brand new top of the line PC, Blackops comes out and I lag like hell in it even with all my settings down low. Treyarch released several fixes but even today (I just tried it) it lags.
I am definitely not buying Blackops 2 for this reason, I will continue to support Infinity Ward though.
Anyone else in the same boat as me?

This is stupid to tell you're not buying Black Ops II because of a technical problem in Black Ops
I have absolutely no problems in Black Ops, and I'm not running a NASA computer (not even able to run Battlefield 3)

Well for a whole range of other people this was the case, even those with NASA computers.
If Blackops came out it lagged THEN they fixed it then I could see where your coming from, but because it didn't happen to you, you dismiss the fact that Blackops lags for me on low settings then I can go to Crysis 2 and play on max settings with no problems what so ever.

Black Ops actually had PC support. Boycott IW, not Treyarch.

Blackops still lags today and has done from the start.
MW3 works fine, when hackers arose IW acted and there is hardly any now.

Why you spam then? go and play mw3 with kids and cheaters. At least treyarch is supporting the pc community.

black ops was heavily cpu bound and still is, which means if you dont have a good quad core cpu you can pretty much expect to lag a little in bo 1.

No matter what Activision, Treyarch or Infinity Ward do, there will always be dreaming f@nboys saying "but the next one will be a whole lot better"

And there will aways be haters badmouthing the next CoD.
Why dont they all just go play another FPS that they actually enjoy instead of ranting on about a game they dispise and calling people who enjoy it f@nboys.

Your tax money ?
What country do you live in ? And what does buying COD have to do with taxes ?

Well I for one has never had any issues with BO1, I bought it on launch date and had no issues that I read others was having. Rather the opposite, its just improved over time with updates and patches.
My computer costs way below $100 so far from a NASA or Japanese supercomputer...

Although I have these issues myself with the first title, I don't mind and I also know it's a subjective matter. They knew about the issue and tried to fix it.

Black ops was crap for me and the patches did nothing. My computer is well over min specs and never did play rite... 10hrs logged and out cash for a game I could not get a refund on... Never again....

So wait... lets get this right.
BO is released, isn't well optimized and has technical problems at first, but it's supported for PC with ranked dedi's, FoV slider, regular updates/patches, and all around generally good support from Treyarch.
MW3 is released, is well optimized with only a few technical problems, but it has ZERO support from the devs, NO ranked dedi's, BROKEN unranked dedi's, NO FoV slider, glitches with the first DLC, horribly delayed patches, and ZERO information, feedback, or support from IW/Sledgehammer.
So instead of the developer that supports their game, and actually made an effort on the PC version, you want to support the developer that strips away all of our freedoms and choices, sticks us with an extremely hacker friendly and broken P2P matchmaking system, and has made ZERO effort on the PC port of their game??
Doesn't make sense.
In any case, the combination of poor optimization at BO launch, and the removal of ranked dedi's, all our options, and the complete and total lack of any support for MW3 should be enough to stop anyone from pre-ordering any future CoD title (and imo anyone pre-ordering or buying BO2 on day one without waiting for reviews and feedback is just a fool)

I've actually gone back to playing Blops, so will definitely buy Blops 2 and MOH Warfighter. There is very little choice if you want a run and gun game. BF3 is far too slow, free online games aren't much better then MW3. If people are all ready moaning I suggest you find something better and let us all know what it is.

I won't buy it because it sucks. No other complex reason.
Anyone who wants a real CoD hardcore experience will buy BF3 Close Quaters DLC. Now, that a real good game.

^^ I lol'd
A "CoD hardcore experience" does not and could not possibly exist in Battlefield 3. Simply because the BF series in general is nowhere even remotely close to being as smooth and polished as the CoD series is (speaking strictly of performance)
I enjoy CoD primarily because it is perfectly smooth gameplay. One of my biggest gripes with BF is the horrendous collision detection problems with the environment, and the overall glitchy and buggy movement.
To compare BF and CoD is an absolute joke. BF3 is slow, clunky, and more realism based, whereas CoD is fast, smooth as silk, and more arcade based.
Seriously comparing the two is like comparing Gran Turismo with Burnout...

Hahahaha, good read for a healthy daily laugh. Specially "the horrendous collision detection problems with the environment" A.K.A, destructible environment. LOL!!! :D

BF3 is pretty smooth but punishes lack of skill (what you call clunky, actually), a bit realistic maybe though not that much, just the amount needed for a really fun but skilled-based gameplay. The latest DLC, Close Quaters, basically is CoD how it should have been done.

dont talk like that if u dont know. the first days of the cod: bo telease there was an issue with cpu usage . even pc's with i7 were lagging.. the game was like matrix . so why pre order bo2 when again they do the same mistake ( no open beta ) and no benefits for those who are willing to pay 60 euros 5 months before the release.

Oh wow... a "lack of skill" comment, how original...
Sorry but what I call clunky, is glitchy, buggy gameplay with sloppy character animations. It has nothing to do with "punishing lack of skill" as you put it (really that's the most idiotic thing i've ever heard)
I also like how you (unsuccessfully) tried to pass off the ridiculously bad collision detection as the destructible environment... that's a laugh.
You're obviously a very slavishly loyal BF3 Hammer Legion Member (and yet you're here on the CoD forums instead of playing your wonderful godlike BF3.. I wonder why)
Oh and your videos show absolutely nothing except the fact that you know how to link youtube videos. They're completely irrelevant.

First, I played BF3, and skill is the last thing present in this game
Basically, if you get in a vehicle, you won the game. If you can't, you're just gonna get your asses blown up for the whole game, while the Engineers of your team are fapping somewhere else in the map
Also, BF3 is laggy, and generally terribly optimized. It's also satured with bloom and lens flares. Get over it
And what the hell are you doing in the COD forums if you won't play it ? You could get back to EA forums, or even make a donation if you like them so much

They think they're doing people a favor by "preaching the BF3 way". You can't change people's opinions. But apparently it's SO hard for people to understand.
