EQ vs EQ2

I heard the old EverQuest I knew and was addictively into (good thing I didn't have a computer back then) now isn't as fun anymore. Is that true?

EverQuest 1 in all aspects... so much more content and group play.

EQ2 has just become a boring WoW clone.

and most people who played it quit since they might as well play WoW instead of a poor clone. It was good the first years, but SOE got new management that made very poor decisions.

Now they are a free to play game that soon has to close all but 3 servers due to lacking population.




I do not recommend EQ2 to anyone. You either played EQ1/2 at some point and will just cry when you see what the series has become, or you dont know EQ at all and are better off playing Rift, which is made by former EQ2 people, who got fired by the new management and showed them how its done.
