Problem Launching the Game

Hello, I'm new so please bear with me if I say something stupid. Ok. I downloaded the game from Steam, obviously. I went to launch and as it brought up the launch screen with the title and scenery in the background, I got an error message a few seconds later. Windows appears and says, "Flight Application," one of the downloads on first-time startup, "has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem." After a few seconds, it says "A problem occurred and the program needs to close. Windows will notify you if a solution becomes available." That may not be exactly what it said, but it's close. I verified the files and de-fragmented it. Nothing worked. My friend said my computer, which was Windows 7, HD graphics, 64-bit operating system, and 2 GB of RAM, may not be able to handle it. Any help would greatly be appreciated, as I love the Microsoft Flight Simulator series and games. Thanks.

could you please post the event viewer details.

go to start, type in event viewer in the search box. Then browse to windows logs -> application

there should be an Error in there with a red exclamation mark relating to flight.exe please copy and paste the general tab.

depending on the HD graphics you have - you may not meet the minimum system requirements. to be sure you could post the information from dxdiag.exe

2 gigs of RAM might be pushing it. Thats the min-requirements but it says that 6 is recommended. What exact video card do you have?

you could just click save all information, and C&P the whole thing in. it'll have details about your vid card in it.

ive just recently be battling a kernalbase error also. do you have freetrack or trackIR software installed? if so, uninstall and have another go at launching flight

If you dont know what trackIR is, and you're the only one using your computer, then its safe to just forget about it. But it pretty much tracks your head movements and applies them to the view in game.

Ok. I am the only one that uses this so I won't worry about it. The only device driver software installed should be my joystick. Could that maybe be the problem?
