View Full Version : I need help - my first attempt at a de_map

Hey, i've mapped before, but they were just semetrical "killbox" maps.
This is my first attempt at a de_ map... and i drew out sort of a blueprint to go by...

some things i already know about
ct spawn could be moved over to the right.
maybe move t spawn to the right as well? it seems like theres not enough action at the left of the map.

there's the picture of what im aiming for.

red = wall
green = door
blue = elevation/balcony.

it's a balcony if it has no red line to match with it.

I figured i could fill in props and boxes later on.


So, anyone have any suggestions on making this better?

note: this is fairly rough and i already know of plenty of things to change.

One thing that is wrong with your sketch is the amount of doors. There are far too many of them; look at that section: http://puu.sh/G0fZ.. That's 5 double doors LOL

Also for such a big map, it seems a bit too flat.

EDIT: There's not enough blank space as well. Every wall is thin and the whole area is prety much walkable.

thanks, i think im going to move the spawns a bit and redraw it.
