View Full Version : Mac OSX Lion showing blank screen

When launching the movie. I get a blank screen and nothing happens.
I've tried to locate the data and run it through VLC, but steam isn't in the application support directory. I have no idea where it is actually installed. Searches for steam only come up with the .app in Applications. I've looked everywhere I can think of on the hdd.
Is there any way I can get steam to tell me where its saving the game data?

EDIT: Oops I obviously only skimmed your post. Try going to terminal and typing:
That should do it. Or better yet:
Hey chipsn, I have the same problem. It's quite annoying, isn't it? I wish steam would fix mac bugs quicker... Anyways to find the actual movie in finder, you first need to go to your library folder. For Lion that folder is hidden so you need to show hidden files like so:
Or just to unhide the Library folder:
Then click finder. The path goes chipsn --> Library --> Application Support --> Steam --> ...
You'll have to search from there, since I'm not on my mac at the moment and I forgot the rest of it. However when you find Indie Game: The Film, just right click it and hit "show package contents". Then search around in there and you'll find the film (feature_1080p.mp4 or whatever). You'll also find the extras and commentary.
Hope this helps.

Hello, I'm a real UNIX sysadmin.
Copy this into a terminal.
mv ~/Library/Application\ Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Indie\ Game\ The\ Movie/IGTM.app/Contents/Resources/data/movies/feature_1080p.mp4 ~/Documents/Indie_Game-the_movie.mp4
and the movie will appear in your Documents folder as Indie_Game-the_movie.mp4, so VLC will be able to find it.
