Hi,

I've been playing FPS/TPS shooter games for ages and I really love Spec Ops. I'm playing on the standard normal difficulty however I am finding myself quite challenged by the games difficulty. I constantly die. I've tried various approaches and I've been progressing very slowly in the game because after 4 or 5 deaths at the same location I get frustrated and rage quit. There isn't anything wrong with my aiming I get a lot of head shot/one shot kills. It's just as soon as I leave cover I find 5 people shooting the crap out of me.

Am I the only one who finds Spec Ops a bit difficult? I've googled it and cant really find anyone else finding it difficult.

How do you play? Do you basically stay behind cover 90% of the game or do you run and gun?

Cover, of course.

While in general Spec Ops gets mediocre reviews for its pretty standard TPS cover shooter gameplay, I like how the game discourages rambo approach. Thank you for making me realize that ;)

Stay behind cover mostly, I just completed it on hard (not FUBAR) and it was mostly pretty easy, other than the start of chapter 14 really.

I started out with walk on the beach mode to get used to it then progressed up in dificulty, Currently Im working through suicide mode then on to fubar mode. Deff. use cover and command adams & luco to do allot of killing & clearing.

Use some tactics. Always command your squad, they are very useful. Toss grenades to raise clouds of sand dust. Sometimes, when you press RMB/RB, you'll see a picture of red skull, which means you can entrap your enemies. Don't use silencers, they weaken your weapon and add recoil.

When I replayed the game on hard, I died much less than when I had played on normal just having had running and shooting. Now I play on FUBAR, it's hard but challenging.

I havent really bothered with the squad thing. The game doesn't do a good job of promoting it. In fact I kinda forgot about it.

I think that's probably where I am going wrong. My hats off to anyone trying it on a harder difficulty. I really love the whole concept of Spec Ops and would be a pity if I had dismissed it because of something like this. Then again I like a bit of a challenge.

Thanks for your responses.

Okay I tried playing again and tried it all again and eventually gave in and now I'm playing on the easiest setting. One thing really odd happened when I placed it on easy.

I noticed that there was this kind of auto-aim type feature and then I instantly noticed why people are saying it's a very clear console port. This auto aim feature makes the aiming a lot more jittery and makes it feel like a bad console experience. However this can be dissabled in the settings. Once dissabled it played well again(and I'm survivng longer now)
