Coop mode - LAN?

Is it possible to host/play this on a LAN with friends?
Is it possible to host a combined LAB/internet server and play with friends on LAN and internet?

Previously, MM had LAN mode, but they had to switch to a more reliable networking code middleware. Unfortunately, this new netcode middleware does not support LAN mode.
