View Full Version : Hello
Greeting,
I was wondering if my computer could handle Dark Souls.
CPU: AMD A6-3420M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics
CPU SPEED: 1.5GHz
Video Card:AMD Radeon(TM) HD 6520G
PIXEL SHADER: 5.0
VERTEX SHADER: 5.0
Dedicated Video RAM: 512MB
Memory:500gb
My laptop is an HP Pavilion g series.
P.S I got 8GB of Ram

My assumption:
No (very low fps)

Integrated 512mb graphics?
Im gonna go with no...
Also, for future reference, in tech specs memory usually means RAM not HDD space, I was a bit shocked when I thought you had 500gb of RAM

Actually the AMD APU's are pretty decent at running some of the new'ish games. I have one in my HTPC and it can play games like Dirt Showdown.
It'll just depend on how well optimized Dark Souls is. My guess is you can probably run it on low settings and get performance similar to a console (30fps average, maybe dips into 15-20).

No it will not be able to run the game, especially not since the developers themselves said that they won't make any pc-specific optimizations to the games engine.

You don't even meet the minimum requirements i think, not sure about notebook video cards or CPU's... even if you somehow manage to get it to run it probably runs at 10 fps on lowest settings so it's not worth it.
For future reference never buy an integrated graphics card if you want to play games efficiently.

You should be fine on low. (http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-6520G.55734.0.html)

You seem to be implying that there will even be a 'low' setting

This is right, the games assets and engine are not being downscaled for lower power rigs, if you cant pump out at least console quality from your rig with an OS and numerous other system processes running in the background youll have a lot of trouble.
Also, integrated graphics.

No. 1.5 GHz CPU power won't even cut it for the minimum requirements.
