banned_user.cfg

Is this the ban list?

And what format are these supposed to be in?

SteamID 0 for a permament ban?

???

Thanks.

banned_user.cfg is actually a config file that is meant to be executed when your server starts.

The format of banned_user.cfg should be a series of banid commands, one for each steam id you want banned.

ie:

banid 0 STEAM_0:0:98989
banid 0 STEAM_0:0:3374
banid 0 STEAM_0:0:17553

etc

The same applies for banned_ip.cfg, except each line would be a series of banip commands.

In order for both banned_user.cfg and banned_ip.cfg to work to their fullest potential, you should have the following lines in your server.cfg (or other config that is loaded on startup):

exec banned_user.cfg
exec banned_ip.cfg

You should also remember that if you ban someone manually at the console, you should use the 'writeid' command to save the banned_user.cfg so that the new ban is added.

I think you meant exec banned_ip.cfg

Cool, thanks.
