There is a bug for some users where they cannot see the servers

According to the stats page there are around 300 servers up at the moment

It is a LOT more stable.

Me and my friend last night before we went to sleep, decided to try and crash it. So I spawned like 999 explosive barrels, and he put a WHOOLE bunch of AI, and than I made a crap load of dynamite. Blew it all up, and it didn't crash like it did in 9. Which made me happy, because now people can't go around in servers and crash it as easy, before you get a chance to kick them.

Also, I like how it's a lot more customizable. Gives more ability for people to release addons, and new items.

The only thing I wish is that when you get to main menu you can search items on a database or something, and get the ones you want right off the main menu of the game. :P

How do you make the custom textures? Like the x-os and the smiley face on the watermelon?

Actually, they're not custom. If you go into the menu, down near the bottom under the render category is a tool called "paint." The context menu lets you select what you want to paint, like blood or bullet holes... or tic-tac-toes and smileyfaces.

Be careful, though. It's easy to let it get out of control! Also, you're limited be your decal limit, so if you do too much, your older stuff will disappear.

edit: just want to make it clear that all of my pics are straight from gmod's screenshot folder, no touch-ups or anything. all of the effects can be done in gmod10. for this one just throw dog in the white room, adjust the bloom to your liking then use the super dof and start the blur at his back. came out looking photoshoped so i though i would clarify.

also just realized that games these days look GOOD!, i remember when i got nascar 95 for the playstation and i was amazed, but now just wow i can't wait to see what the next generation of game designers can bring us.

Check the gmod forums (http://forums.facepunchstudios.com/forumdisplay.php?f=11) for mods, plugins, maps, models and LUA scripts.

The cital and mountain are part of the level.

Just wondering, you can change DoD:S model's faces? Because I'm planning work on a screenshot, and lated edit it a lot in PS, to give it a different feeling. But I hate how all the models from DoD:S have this annoying blank expression.

I'm asking because I still don't own the game.

nope the default dod source models dont have facial animations, they are just a picture basically.
no moveable mouth or eye poses as they have no eyes.

Yeah, shame :( because I think there's a lot of potential with gmod10+DoD... but having those blank faces is annoying as hell. They look dumb.

VALVe could release some face anims now that gmod is an official game of Steam.

Thrust vectoring explained:

A wheel inside the engine box thingy is driven by the keys 4 and 6 on the numpad. On the back axel of the vehicle, are two axis-welded poles which rotate symmetrically via a rigid rope connected to each other. From there, each of the rotating axes are connected to the wheel which rotates the axes. Elastic ropes are used to pull the axes back to their original position.

While I was making it I was using the Phys Gun freeze button becuase weld doesnt hold it very well and i hit the reload button while i had the Phys gun selected and it unfroze all 200 objects and i had to watch it crumble :(

i made a few pics inspired by that. only its half a dozen seals, there is plenty of blood. one pic features a dead guy floating, one is a guy getting sniped...

no outside editing. flashes are emitters and the yellow line from the guys gun was generated by a turret.

again, they are in chronological order, and no outside editing was used.
it was proved by myth busters that guns don't send you flying backward, but that last pic looks awesome

Your stuff is pretty good, but the poses are never quite right. They're close, but they look a bit off. I suggest working on your character posing a little more. What I try sometimes is to stand in the pose I'm going for and then replicate it in game.

They are not the best, but they are not the worst. I think they are fine except a few were they sink a little into ground. but hey, ill keep getting better.

EDIT: ya, i noticed the office pics are not as good as others. but i like the other locations better anyways!

Those pics are GMOD 10 right? I never seen those types of maps in GMOD 9. I guess Garry Newman did a good job making GMOD10.

Nice effect mate, combine versus Americans/Germans (I don't know which - don't have DoD:S) - it's like they've travelled back in time because the Rebels are making it too f***ing hard for them!
Not quite sure about the first picture though - looks too bloomed I think but there you go. ^__^

They're pretty basic, and some parts are really sloppy. If you hold use while you are holding an object with the physgun, you can rotate it, which is the only way you can really pose guns.
