Map specific config files feature broken?

Since the last update all my config files to limit different things for different maps in the folder "/cstrike/maps/cfg" no longer seem to have any effect.

Did Valve remove that fonctionality?

I've always used the Mani Admin Plugin's map_config folder for that purpose and it has always worked. Not sure about the built-in functionality, but I remember hearing a couple of other people saying the built-in cfg feature wasn't working.

Putting the map specific config files in /srcds/<game>/cfg works fine...
