Max slots for cs1.6

Hi All,
Does anyone know the max slots you can have on a cs1.6 dedicated server?
there are many 50+ slots source servers but none of the CS1.6 goes above 32 players, is this because of map restrictions?

Say for instance i had a server that ONLY run custom maps would it be possible to have a 40 slot CS1.6 server if all the maps supported the spawn points?

Well it is kind of appropriate as im after information regarding the difference in DS between the source and CS1.6..........

But i will post in there too.

The Half-life engine will not and can not support anything higher than 32 entities. The maps don't have enough spawning entities nor were they designed for anything larger than 32.
