Hey rotNdude i'm having trouble visiting 3 of the links (there may be more) in the above selection. Says they don't exist and it told me to tell an admin... which took me to the support site but i thought that would be a long and convoluted process (like this message ha) so here i am.
they are:

Ultimate Air Cooling

The RAM guide

Newer generation video cards and performance comparison

Sorry if you already knew this, im just trying to learn stuff and this is the best place to do so. and its so cozy.

Hey rotNdude, I've found a set of sites which have data taken from thousands of benchmarks of GPUs, CPUs and Hard drives which I reckon could settle a fair amount of disputes in this forum. Links underneath.

http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/index.php
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/index.php
http://www.harddrivebenchmark.net/index.php

Thought they might be able to be used in this thread.

YES. Thank you! That video card benchmark thingy is exactly what I needed. So often (always?) games' system requirements will just be something like "ZankMeister 660XS or better" and it's like, that doesn't tell me freaking anything! How should I know what is and isn't "better" than some random model I've never heard of? At least with CPUs they have numbers that mean stuff. Now I can just look it up and see that the ZankMeister 660XS has a rating of 240, and my card has a rating of 290, so I know I'm good to go. Props and a rep point to you for finding this!

There are some dead links. I clicked the OB fix and it loads to a thread that is missing. You should give this a once over and click all the threads and see which ones are dead.
Only 2 of the first links actually worked.

Rot, you should add BestDirect (http://bestdirect.ca/) in the line of Canadian retailers. They have the lowest prices with free shipping on large orders. It's a really useful site with REALLY fast shipping.

A Gigabyte 5850 is $252 on BestDirect, whereas it is $280+ everywhere else (Canadian sites, and even then, a lot of them have it for over $300).

Highly recommended.

A big question is whether Steam will support storing games in different folders on different drives. Is there any word on this happening?

SSD owners are having to use a crazy workaround to play their steam games so maybe until Steam fixes the system we could get that posted in here.

I see you have "overclockers" listed for the UK.

This company is truly terrible when it comes to after sales,I have only dealt with them myself twice(shame on me)and both times it has lead to me tearing my hair out,at 1st I thought it was just my bad luck but having spoke to quite a few gaming guild friends it would seem it is the norm.

As this thread is to help other users find the best deals from the best companies I think "Overclockers" should be removed or at least looked at to stop other people going through the same trouble I and fellow gamers went through with this company.

This is of course your thread rotNdude but just thought it should be brought to your attention, feel free to delete this post.

Gamepc.nl is overpriced much like an alienware with costumisable options.

Thanks, I added a note.

Hmm Pc Specialist (http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk) any good? It's not listed but it gets good reviews, have had my eye on them for a while and will probably buy from them when Haswell is out. Just saw this on ebuyer http://www.ebuyer.com/482320-pc-specialist-x800-gaming-pc-pcs-d536845 and it's made by pc specialist as well

Thanks, it's added.

May I suggest Guru3d forums be added to the list of "other good forums"?

http://forums.guru3d.com/

They also feature a central site that focuses primarily on PC tech news and guides. It can be added to the "hardware reviews and news" section.

Thanks, it's added.

Not sure how Gamepc.nl can be overpriced or even put on the same level as Alienware.

I must be missing something as they have budget game PC builds from €360.
Unless the poster was only looking at the gaming laptops which I find on a whole a waste of money.
For Desktop PC's Gamepc.nl fits in very well with the list and is cheaper than 3 or 4 of the other Dutch sites on the list that I have used.

RotNdude, this just came in but the webshop http://sallandautomatisering.nl/ just filed for bankruptcy so might as well remove that from the list.

Aye! Back in the end of 2009 I bought a pre-build customized computer from the internet computer shop http://hardwaremania24.de/ . You might want to add it too?
