ip Trouble

there probably one already on the forum, and ive looked....with no effect

right im usin a router and ive forwarded my ports and i am connect to VAC and my server is running as when i connect there is weapon pricin. but when you look at server info the ip its not what it should be (ie atm its 192.168.1.1:27015) and i dont know how to make it my propper ip adress

any help?? or links to the correct bit of forum??

The server itself will always display the IP of the computer it's running on. That is normal.

People on the internet however will see the external IP, and the external IP is the one you should give to people to join your server. Of course, as long as you forwarded your ports properly.

Keep in mind though that friends will not be able to connect to the server through your XFire or Friends profiles, since these will detect the LAN IP not the external one. Not much you can do about that other than reconfiguring your network so the server computer is not behind a router.

i though i had all the required ports forwarded, guess not. i looked on the sticky and found these

UDP 1200 (Friends Network)
UDP 27000 to 27015 (Gameport)
UDP 27020
TCP 27030 to 27039
TCP: 27015 (SRCDS Rcon port)

put them into my router and it worked
