All right, I've managed to learn to create animated textures. They go all fine, and animate just like I want them to.

However, I have 2 issues with them.

1. The bumpmap won't animate. No matter what proxies I set up, the bumpmap is still, even though it is saved as an animated .vtf.

2. I cannot manage to add alpha channels to .tga images. The alpha channel just won't sae (at least in Photoshop). Therefore I can't manage to create buttons that light up when switched on.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

in photoshop goto the channels selection box thingy and click on the new channel icon down the bottom. This will add an alpha channel.

I did that. I added an alpha channel, then added the proper alpha mask, and then I went to "Save". However, when I try to save it as a .tga, it paints a "!" at "Alpha Channels", and after I reopen it, the alpha channel is gone. I save it at 32 bit.

I'm not sure this is your problem, but be sure RLE compression is OFF when you save your .tga

It is off by default, and I never switched it on. Also, remember the "Save As" appears before the quality/RLE dialog. And the ! sign is at "Save As" dialog.
