removing valve logo intro video and changing background

Alright guys, sorry for all the questions..
does anyone know how to change the background once inside the mod
like the default is a picture of city17..
also when you start a mod it shows that video of valve where the guy has the valve in his eye.. does anyone know how to remove that?

Um, the video, you just go into the mod folder and you will see another folder that says media. Go in and delete the video.

I used to know how to change the background. But I could tell you later maybe.

I don't know how to change it, but to remove it, you can use:
+map_background none

That's in launch options btw.

If there's a particular mod that has a changed background, you could ask them, I suppose.

dood, this shouldn't be in the coding section but anyway just empty Startupvids.txt in the media folder (if its not there then make one) or put an avi in that folder and change that textfile to point to your vid (media/example.avi) ...

Then, in materials/console, replace background_01.vtf with your own texture but with the same name.

Also note, you CAN use .wmv format videos as your startup video (I have), and i imagine you can also use music... :P
