View Full Version : Port Forwarding through BT Home Hub

Hi guys,

Before you say check the thread, I have done. This is a genuine problem not dealt with by portforward.com or the manual, and I'm wondering if other people have had the same issue.

Basically, I'm running a Windows dedicated server on a dedicated machine. The network it is on connects to the internet via a BT Home Hub.

If I try port forward using the application sharing built into the hub, no dice. If I create a custom application with the ports specified in the Steam Support area, no dice. If I try explicitly forward ports in a custom firewall config, no dice. If I create a custom application to forward every available port to the server, no dice.

However, if I put the server into the DMZ it works perfectly and is accessible from the outside world.

Does anybody know of any arcane settings I'm missing, if the latest patch screws it up etc?

For reference, the server is running on Windows Server 2003 SP2, with no software firewall installed on it. This is purely an issue with the Home Hub config.

He said he's having an issue with his home hub, not his server operating system.

I've not had a home hub, but here is a nice guide (http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/BT/BTHomeHub/Half_Life.htm).
