I don't think so, better wait a couple years mate, or get the games anyway.

Yes you do need one, it states: YOU NEED ONE SOURCE GAME!

Just buy css and promise not to play it ;)...

No, only Counter-Strike: Source, Day of Defeat: Source, Half-Life 2: Deathmatch, Half-Life 2, and Half-Life 2: Episode One will work.

There should be a gmod package, that comes with gmod 10 and css.

if garry's mod is not compatible with a T rated source game I may have to give up on it

try to convince your parents that day of defeat source is not particularly violent. or half-life 2, for that matter. i mean, you can still have deathmatches with garry's mod, which will inevitably feature headshots, and garry's mod still features blood decals.

I think that The Ship works, because it's a Source game, like CSS. I can't completely assure you this, but I think it should work.

I am pretty sure my Episode 1 box says 'T' (or 16+)

Edit: It says 16+, while HL2 is 18+, that's weird since I found Episode 1 more gory and violent then HL2.

Yes, and my box says 16+, ok?
I live in Europe, must have something to do with that.

There is one... its the $23 one.

My Half-Life 2 is age rated 15+. I have been playing games rated 5 years older for ages (I was playing 15+ Delta Force 1 when i was 10)

Ep. 2 looks awesome, but I'm pretty sure you haven't played it. :P

Anyway, if you have an ATI card you can get Lost Coast and HL2DM for free, though I'm not sure if those come with the SDK Base. If they do, you could just dl them and not tell your parents.

No, they dont come with it and you cannot play mods and stuff with them (So its pretty pointless... although if you just play gmod, then you could try it).
