View Full Version : Some episode 1 Qs

I've been out of the scene for a while and am confused some about using episode 1 content. When the current game is set to HL2 in the source SDK you still have access to episode 1 content like Zombines but other things like flares (a prop physics model) you don't. This would be fine if I were making stand alone maps, I'd just put them in the EP1 map direstory but I'm trying to make an episode 1 mod.
I guess I'll shorten this question and just ask - how do you create, file structure wise, an episode 1 based mod? :confused: Thanks

If you have to Zombines, you have flares too. You just haven't found them yet. :p
Run buildcubemaps from the console to fix the issue in your screenshot. You'll need env_cubemap entities throughout your map - one per distinct area.

As I said I already built both HDR and LDR cubemaps. And when I run Hammer with the current game config of HL2 I have access to episode one entities but not props. I find this very odd..

Yes, it's very odd. Do you have Ep1 downloaded and have you run it at least once?

Yeah I do. I don't have any leaks btw.
I just ran the SDK base stress test and I got the same effect so this is an engine problem not a map problem.
*sigh* I really miss the Half-life 1 days....
edit - I don't get this effect in episode 1 btw
