View Full Version : how to fill up a map?

Like i mean, i have a couple empty spots in my map..I just can't seem to place clutter down correctly, it always looks wrong. D=

you don't have to actually FILL the area, infact if you do it'll probably play badly.

The trick is getting it to look full. Trims and details between rapid changes in materials, making sure things have edges and corners.

Another thing you can do is create things that will cast shadows in interesting ways, while playing with the sun's direction.

Couple decals here and there don't hurt either.

boxes and barrels placed strategically enhance the gameplay if done right (most of that is trial and error though). Maybe some plants, don't overdo it though

What about trees, graffiti (as overlays), and more variation in textures?

Rounding out the corners of the wall and making diagonals in your architecture also help.

COLLAPSED BUILDINGS. Just 1 or 2 can really add to a map and fill in some gaps, plus provide some good tactical cover points.

Add some barrels, crates, cars, and junk props. Also, browse through the decals and add some.
