I wanna know how can we play mp3 files in our own custon cs1.6 maps.
I can use wav files using amberic_generic but dunno how to play mp3 in it?
In cs 1.6

yeah, you move the file to the "sounds" folder of your cs 1.6 directory, and then it will show up under "raw" sounds in the sound browser. it might not work right, try converting it to wma.

I have found the best thing to do is use .wav with a PCM compression. Microsoft ADPCM works nicely for me.
No issues and file-size and sound quality are up to you.

I got my mp3 and wav to work eventually. Make sure you create the sound folder directory, and put the name of the file into the ambient_generic (not the path of the directory). You might need a 1 sec delay on the ambient_generic start up by using a logic_timer. I've heard looping might also fail on map loads/reloads so it's recommended you recue it each playback instead of looping.
