Portal Not Saving Progress

Some players must do all the advanced portal maps in 1 sitting while others do not....I don't know if this is intended (pretty sure it isn't). I did all the advanced maps, saved it right before the end of the final map and to my surprise came back the next day to find no check marks on any maps. Very, very frustrating.

If this is intended then...First it's a crappy feature (the gamer with the most time wins!), and Second there should be some disclaimer or warning of this....

Yeah, I've been wondering this myself. Mine also does not save the progress of the advanced levels. I had no idea that some out there are able to save them. Are we supposed to do all the advanced levels in one sitting?

I'm having the same problem. It's very annoying, is there any cheat to re-activate the challenges? I don't feel like replaying the last level right now :mad:

It didn't happen on the 360 when I did some of the advanced maps.

Do you get the prompt to select the storage device? I'm sure if you haven't selected the storage device, it won't save your progress.

AFAIK, the official valve fix is to complete any advanced/challenge map you start. Completing a map should restore your stats.

But I can't! The challenges are gone, I have to re-finish the basic game.

Try finishing the game again and see if that brings it back.

If you mean the advanced maps aren't unlocked because the game hasn't recorded that you completed all the chapters, you may get the advanced maps unlocked using:

Description: How to unlock all of the stages in all games except Team Fortress 2.
How to: Insert the following code during gameplay: left, left, left, left,
left bumper,
right, right, right, right,
right bumper.

If done correctly, you'll be able to select any stage from the main menu.

All that code does is activating server side cheats, it seems.
