I love the HL2 series however Gabe is always saying to send them suggestions, I will send him a email with this in it as well. Again, don't take this as me not liking the game, I do... I would like to see some changes going forward in the series though. I am not completely done with Ep.2.. about half way.
Suggestions:
- The graphics are good overall but most of character models look a tad dated, the face animation is awesome though. The zombies and antlions look dated as well. IMHO I just don't get that 3D-ish look to them and the environments at times.
- Kind of tired of Antlion encounters, I mean... you fight them multiple times in HL2, Ep.1, and a ton in Ep.2 as well. The antlions are becoming The Flood of the HL2 series.
- I think fighting the combine and the all the zombies is still fun.
- Trying to fight with Aleyx in the way in Ep.1 was a pain at times.
- Sometimes the game still seems like a small conflict instead of some huge war.
- I didn't really care for the tunnel encounters in the beginning of Ep.2. Again, too many antlions... caves kind of get boring quick. I actually liked the underground areas of Ep.1 but not the cave areas... they all look the same, antlions just are not fun anymore. IMHO.
The good news, just getting to the outdoor areas I think in Ep.2. Again, I love the HL series, TF2 and portals are great... hoping my suggestions help with Ep. 3 and beyond.
