My, my! While trying to see how TF2 performed after the new patch (Oct 26/27 patch) I entered a game that was listed as a 16 player match. It took me a while, even after clearly seeing the two big 10's on top of the colored doors on the team select screen, that the game was above the 16 max.

So I joined a team. Now one team had 11 players and the other had 10 and it was performing very well. The host must have had a very fast connection upload. (after all I ran into a 12 player match that froze, this after the patch). So, the game was going on very well until the 22nd player joins and then we bagan experiencing lag. Someone said "oh, it's laggin'", and I went like "Of course it is lagging. There are 21 players!" (not knowing yet that someone else had just joined). In less than a minute from that point and the lag became worse and then I "lost connection with the host".

Is this a glitch? I would think Valve kept in mind the number of players they wanted to have when designing the maps. Who knows maybe it would be good to add a 10 v 10 option for those who really can. Now, besides the available 4v4, 6v6, and 8v8, a 5v5 option would be welcome. (Right now we fix this by having two slots set to private)

A side note: There should be a timer (if there is not one already -I havent tested this) for the expectators. Or an option to not have any expectators. An expectator on a near full match would be occupying the slot of the player a team might need.
