No matter who the host is or what connection/isp he has this game lags to unplayable levels.

I tested this out whis a friend of mine that lives in the same city as me and it has nothing to do with the host connection. The lag is from the netcode in this game and is a result of not being made for the way the 360 handles it.
Lets face it this game was "poorly" ported to the 360 and im sorry Valve but YOU FAILED!
Testing that I did... First I went out and bought the PC version of TF2. Next I had my friend host a 32 man TF2 game on the pc. Game ran smooth as silk. No problems at all.

Next he hosted a 16 man on 360 version. Unplayable lag. I could not even move and later I was just dissconnected.

Next he hosted a 12 man on 360. Same as before but alittle better, still unplayable.

We stoped testing there and just went and played halo3 on 360 :) Sorry but this game fails.

In conclusion...If your going to port a PC game to 360 at least make sure the game can be hosted ON the 360 so people can play your game.

p.s Last 360 patch you did made this lag worse not better

You're basically saying that it IS the Software ... Which would mean that everyone would have the same problem.

But not everyone does.

Tell your host to stop D/L'ing porn whilst you're trying to play ;)

All jokes aside, I seriously don't have any problems/complaints from players in the games I host.

Your friend is clearly hosting out of his bandwidth range for the 360 version.

He is way in the range of the bandwith needed to host on the 360. The problem IS FOR A FACT software related. Did you even read my post? We tested this on the PC version also with no problems.

On top of all that any server I join now on 360 version is laged to hell. Most people on 360 have a mic so we talk about the lag "in game" on these laggy servers. EVERYONES LAGED. EVERY HOST IS LAGED!!

Now your telling me you have some miracle host that dose not lag? Sorry but I dont belive it. Not sence this last patch.

Remember, internet connections arent always teh same speed upload than download. E.g. Mine is

2124kbps down, 256kbps up.

I can only host MAX of 6 people on CS: S -- let alone TF2.

Hate to be a Grammar ????, but its "Lagged", two Gs.

Anyway, yes I did read your post - did you read mine?

If there was a fundamental flaw with Lag on all servers then surely I - with my fairly rubbish connection - would suffer terrible lag when I host the 12 Man matches that I do so often?

Regardless, your testing methods are flawed because they are two very different items of software, you were right when you referred to it as a "Port" so surely you understand they aren't going to work identically?

tft intoxicated

i never lag ever. i host 12 player games all night starting @ around 6 pm.

i can host 16 but it usually kicks 2 ppl out and makes it 14 player. there are problems with the software, and since no1 responds to my queries, ill place them here.

double melee
stabbing while invis/disguised
falling through maps and having the demo nades not bounce or stick to walls for some reason
getting stuck to a wall
the lobby telling u people are there when they quit and u cant kick them out.\

THOSE are software problems. if anything, valve lied about how many people can actually play this game from the wrong perspective. ive played in NUMEROUS 24 player games, with totally different people from diff countries and we couldnt figure out how to reproduce. it was not a fluke, its happened to hundreds of ppl, we just dont know how to do it again.

I think it's safe to say that TF2 has more sensitivity to networking parameters (speed, latency and reliablility) than most other games.

In as far as matching the PC version, keep in mind that some bandwidth probably is reserved for voice on the xbox whereas this is not the case on the PC.

Wasn't the 360 only able to handle like 8v8 or something? :/ So when you host outside that it might be due to that it really shouldn't be able to handle it.

TheIntOxicAted1: If Valve are able to release to release a patch to the game all those would be fixed. As they already fixed it in the PC version. Except for the last one. As it's mostly something with 360.

Dont worry, There wil be a patch... but guys reminber this is not the pc. And XBOX Live is a CLOSSED platform.... Everything a developer want to do on xbox live.. must be approved by Microsft... So i think Valve doing a big patch next, whit al the changes from the PC version AND the 360 problems...

Maybe there is allready a patch in the cycle at Microsoft... But just wait until we wil here about it....

Even though i dont have any problems on my TOB... i host's a lot of games in tf2 and people dont have lag... But sometimes the game let 12vs12 teams... the game than has many framedrops but still no lag at the end.....

So just wait and see... we wil not be forgotten...
