I am making an elevator model, with doors built in on the front. I have completed the reference and animation for opening of the doors, and the model compiles sucessfully and works in the Model Viewer. The only thing not working is the physics box, how can I make the physics animate aswell, so that the doors can open and close physically.

I have tried using the same bones as in the reference, hoping Source would figure out they are the same and do the animation on both the physics and reference, but it doesn't work.

My bone setup has 3 bones, all independant of eachother (root, root1, root2), where root1 and root2 are enveloped to the doors, while root is the bone for the elevator body.

I am using XSI Mod Tool and would appreciate any help.

It works well to use a brush that can be toggled for that.
Since your Elevator is working have you considered clipping for the doors?
May even work better than physical collisions on the model.

Do a search for "bone_followers".
