Can anyone tell me how to deal with the server problems after completing a song? It says something along the lines of "Searching for other scores for this song..." and I can't cancel it. I have to exit out of Audiosurf every time I complete a song.:mad:

OK, so i'm in the same boat of not being able to create an account. I click create account, then fill the fields and hit create and it spits back what looks like some kind of source code written all over the screen. I'm pretty sure it's some kind of javascript. Also, when I go to www.audio-surf.com it comes up as a different site, namely www.teamdarry.com. I don't have anything weird in my hosts file. I can play the game but the scoreboards are empty when I finish the songs. Hope this helps find the problem.

Search the Host file and open it with a text editor. Usually inside: "C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc"
Delete everything what's not "127.0.0.1 localhost" or put a "#" before it.

Let me tell you a story about a game called Hellgate: London.

Great game.

Several months past RELEASE, they still had not fixed bugs that were cited as URGENT by the beta testers (they hadn't even made notice of "STFU we are working on it!").

Don't call any release disappointing unless it compares to that.

I'm having trouble logging in and I've not changed the hosts file.

The game was gifted to me and when I first played it I could create an account and login fine, but then it said it was only a demo and that I couldn't play anymore. I restarted Steam which fixed the demo issue, but now I can't login anymore. :(

Also, I recommend just using the command "ipconfig /flushdns" on the Run menu or Command prompt for clearing your DNS cache.

If you changed your hosts file so you could Play the Beta you need to go remove the lines you added to it so that the game can connect with the real audio surf site.

Prolly not a proxy issue - I can't get in either, it's the same problem here, and I'm at home (no proxy, and router shouldn't make any difference).

Still having issues logging in. I'm Pretty sure I didn't accidentally input a different password upon account creation. So I also wouldn't mind some kind of password reset or request. Unless the servers are being modified or something.

First thing's first, I heard about the game and saw how awesome it was... so I tried to pirate it. *wry smile* There's the hacked beta version that's widely available if you know where to look, you know who you are if you're guilty as I am. Anywho, part of getting it to work is you have to modify your windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts file which denies you access to the audio surf servers. I had forgotten about this and had to go back in and change what I had done to get it working again.

Hopefully this helps you folk out. This is most certainly whats going wrong especially if you can't even go to audio-surf.com, because this is what the hosts file will do.

I got almost the same problem as tomtheman70, just the opposite ways in computers, I installed this first on a laptop and then on my desktop, and I can't ogin from my desktop, it jus says that the login failed and that I should try again.

Look in the following direrctory if you're on XP:

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

There is a file in there named "hosts" -- open it with Notepad or Wordpad and see if there is an entry listing 127.0.0.1 www.audio-surf.com.

If so, remove it and close/save the file.

You should then be able to go to the Audio-Surf.com site without any problem as well as be able to login through the game itself.

I hadn't played Audiosurf for a few months (due to Left 4 Dead), I recommended this to a friend who bought it but now I can't log in!!?!!

As it was a while ago I can't remember my password (I got hacked so changed all my passwords but because I hadn't had to log in to Audiosurf I hadn't changed this one).

I went to change password and Steam said an email had been sent to my account but it hasn't arrived (3 days now).

I just bought this game yesterday and I can't seem to find anywhere to register to audiosurf? Not sure if I'm blind or what. I assume I need to register in order to play?

Yes you should see an account option, clicking that should give you the option to create a new account.

I'm already registered so look for create account on the main screen as I can't remember where it is and I only bought the game recently too, must be my age ;)

Try clicking that, if you can't log in as you have no account then that should give you the option to create a new account.

Same here. Why is it so damn hard just to create an account? I made an account on their forums within seconds, but can't seem to with the game for the life of me. :confused:

edit* seems you have to do the tutorial. i didn't want to even start cuz i didn't want to miss out on anything due to not being logged in. this needs to be in print upon 1st starting up the game. it'll save a lot of confusion.

I haven't played in forever and had the same issues...I searched around about the password recovery and had to add @audio-surf.com to my spam/safe senders list (hotmail) to recive the new password through my email. I hope this might help some of you guys.

Even though audiosurf's main menu says 'welcome sokratesz' i cannot post any scores and if i press 'login' after finishing a song, it fails :(

Yep, same here. Suddenly started having this issue today. The main welcome page has me logged in, but if I progress to the game selection screen I'm logged out and can't log back in at all. Highly frustrating!

Seems like I'm not the only one either. The website logged it in just fine, but the game itself is having issues with my account apparently. :(

'Login failed. Try again.' So far, I only played for one day and then this happened.

Hey you know what else is neat? you can crash the game if you try to view comments after you finish a song. :-]

Resolved! It's been one more day and I no longer have this problem. Mysteriously resolved. I haven't shut down my computer, but I did reset my internet connection.
