DEMO EXPIRED MESSAGE:
Fully exit out of Steam, right clicking the Steam icon to exit. Restart Steam and this should be fixed.
QUEST 3D ERROR MESSAGE
1) Exit steam and restart
2) if that fails, exit computer and restart
3) if that fails, delete local copies and redownload
This works for most people but some people still have an error. If you are running Windows 2000, the game does not support Windows 2000, but you might want to check out this thread for ideas of how to make it work:

You may also want to try out closing out Steam and logging in as an administrator:

Also you may want to do what's suggested in this forum--try the last cache validation step first:

BLUE SCREEN
Check out this thread:

You may want to delete and reinstall your sound card drivers. C-Media cards and Turtle Beach Montego cards give some people trouble in particular.
As a quick fix, turning off sound effects has worked for some people so you may want to try that. When you load up a screen, select "no sounds"
Some people have fixed this by using a USB sound card:
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=653791&page=2
or by checking their audio and video codecs:
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=654167
also one person says if you're using 5.1 sound this might be the problem:

MOUSE/CONTROLS NOT WORKING RIGHT
It may be a USB device issue. If you have something like a Guitar Hero controller plugged in, this may be causing the trouble.
Some people on the Steam forum have found that it's their mouse that was causing the trouble:

UNPLAYABLY SLOW FRAMERATE
XBCD drivers for Xbox 360 controllers also are known to cause memory leak problems.

CRASH WHEN YOU TRY TO PLAY THE GAME OR THE GAME IS STUCK IN WEIRD WIREFRAME/RESPAWN MODE
If you are having a crash come up when you try to play the game, it may be something to do with the initial video that starts up and needing a codec for it, or needing Windows Media Player. You can try deleting the videos from Audiosurf to see if that works.

IF YOU HAVE AN ATI X1900 VIDEO CARD
Some people are having graphics problems who have this card. You can try running it in normal or enhanced graphics mode instead of premium (hit escape while playing to change) and/or make sure anti-aliasing is off.

IF YOU ARE USING A G15 KEYBOARD AND THE GAME WILL NOT START
Plug something into both of the USB ports at the back of the keyboard, so both of the ports have something in them.
My game only starts when I have something plugged into both ports. (In my case, my mouse and my joystick)

I just bought Audiosurf, and though I got the demo thing, restarting Steam fixed it.
Problem is though it has crashed my PC utterly for/with no apparent reason/warning twice now in about 6 songs. It's just playing along nicely, then the screen freezes but the music keeps playing. No buttons work anymore (not even the restart button!), and eventually the sound will start chopping as if stuck and the PC shuts itself down for a couple a secs and restarts.
No idea why, no chance to get errors, just BAM crash wait die. Any ideas?

For some reason, I just launced the game, and there is no actual music, just the sound FX, any suggestions?

You guys really need to use the "Troubleshooting" forum at the audio-surf.com site.

Playback error 2:
You have a non-English character in the filepath, or a space. Audiosurf currently does not support Unicode characters. If you're loading music from another harddrive, make sure the harddrive is NTFS-formatted.

My computer crashes and restarts whenever I load audiosurf. I'm on XP SP2 and my system settings pass all the requirements.
List all your system specs and describe at exactly what stage of loading AudioSurf it crashes and restarts (e.g., before anything happens, at the news screen, at the epilepsy warning, at the play-credits-exit screen, etc.). Has this always been the case, or is this something new?
This sounds (at first glance) like a system driver issue (video, audio) and not an AudioSurf problem. Be sure to include in your specs what model of video card your system uses.

Same here, and I've found nothing in the previous posts or forums about the issue I'm having. The game loads fine, but all the blocks are yellow colored now instead of different colors and the sound effects play fine, but the song doesn't play at all. I'm running the game on a Windows XP Asus Intel Quad Core 2.40ghz Q6600 pc with 3GB ram, Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB video card.

Try to post that but with a more detailed explanation (a screenshot would be good, too) on the official Audiosurf forums (www.audio-surf.com/forum).

When I try to play music from my iTunes folder (Which I could do before the latest patch), the game gets stuck at "Scanning Song Buffer" and stops responding... It works on all other music, just not my iTunes stuff...
I'm guessing it's not normal; what do you think's causing it?
EDIT: Also, some iTunes music isn't showing up either... (The folder is there, but the songs can't be seen)

I had a problem for a while where, every time I tried to load Audio Surf, the screen would flicker and 'Quest Viewer' would be listed on the task bar, but not audio surf. After much playing, I changed my screen resolution (in windows, not in audio surf), and it works fine. I don't know if anyone else has got/had that problem, but I thought I'd post it.

That happened to me once, the problem went away by restarting steam.
p.s. You may get more responses by posting in the game official forums (http://audio-surf.com/forum)

I tried all the fixes above but still got random BSOD's while playing the game. When it happens the display freezes, the music goes on for about 5 seconds and then a BSOD.
I'm not having any troubles with my computer or other games. Anyone got some tips or something about this?
I'm running:
Phenom II x4 965 @ stock (for now)
Sapphire HD 5970 2GB
Auzentech X-Fi Bravura or an onboard realtec-chip
W7 Ultimate x64

Game keeps crashing whenever I'm supposed to earn an achievement. Steam grants me the achievement, but Audiosurf crashes to desktop whenever I'm supposed to get one without granting me the achievement in game.

Just bought Audiosurf on Steam, and I still haven't been able to play :(
Everytime I click play (through Steam or not) it just comes up with the error message "Q3d file corrupt" and doesn't even start the game.
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, and I've tried most of the solutions that seem to address Quest3d issues, but my error message seem to differ from them.
Tried:
- defrags
- validations
- reinstalling
- restarting comp/Steam
Pretty sad, really wanted to play this game. Glad it was cheap on sale. If anyone can help me out that'd be awesome.
Update: I can run the game from inside the Steam\common folder, but then before it starts the game it tells me that I'm unable to connect to my Steam account.

Whenever I close the game it crashes. Everything else works like a champ, but the game hangs and crashes when trying to exit out.

My problem isn't serious, but I find that in fullscreen the mouse control is less sensitive than it is in a window. There's a bit of lag from when you move to when the ship moves, and about a second between when you click to say, make Mono Pro expand or jump, and when it actually happens. When I play in a window though it's fine, but I'd like to be able to play at max resolution.

So I just re-downloaded itunes for my new laptop, and the game said I need Quicktime to play...
...but I have Quicktime...
...it's on the desktop and everything...
...any ideas?

You need QuickTime for certain file-extensions. And It's not the game I think. I have other programs saying QuickTime isn't installed also.
I think it's Windows that's causing these problems.

When I try to play the game, I get a window called alternately "Audiosurf" and "Quest Viewer". There is nothing in the window, and if maximized it is empty and white.
What does this mean?
