Hi,

Is it possible to run Hammer editor from a downloaded version, instead of first open up source SDK and click hammer editor under utilities? If so, could anyone please tell me how? i'm sick of allways waiting so long for sdk to load.

I don't think there is. I just looked in my sourcesdk installation folder and there doesn't seem to be seperate executable files for each different program in the SDK.

I get pretty impatient waiting for it to load as well, but I don't think there's a way around it.

Nope, unfortunately this can't be done, Valve have said it may be fixed in a later version, but I don't know when.

hmm, before i downloaded hammer, when i never had steam, it was hammer 3.8 i think, and it worked, i just googled it up, but you will nedd to configure it to recocgines the game you want, then you still might have a problem with getting props etc, so i wouldnt bother with it, just get steam - steam client is free

depending on what one, u mean source sdk hammer ? or the worser version, if your talking about the other version, not source sdk, then yeah you should be able to delete it and not effect source sdk.
