WebMoney is russian online payment system. It is used throughout Russia and is the most popular here. So we want Valve to support not only western payment systems e.g. Paypal, but also WebMoney!
Here is the petition: http://www.petitiononline.com/wmrsteam/petition.html
Hope, you'll include WM support soon...

Wow. People use different services in different parts of the world. Excuse them for wanting them to pay on Steam with something they use instead of switching to a new account on paypal.
Oh sorry, they also should be able to use Risa cards instead of Visa ones.

Maybe because the payment options already available for Steam should be sufficient.
I can understand why people want to be able to use what they're also using for different things, but I don't see Valve being that interested in adding it to Steam if it's only used in Russia.

And why then American Express is allowed, though it is used in America only? Also the systems used in Steam are not compliant for russian users except Visa and Mastercard credit cards.

Russia is a huge pc market.
I don't get why anyone is denying this when it would benefit plenty of people living there that want to buy Steam games with Webmoney?

Not really hard. But PayPal tends to stop accepting bank deposit from time to time without any reason. That's what makes PayPal unusable.

Yandex.money...that sounds like a virus name :D

Nice for you. I am living in ex-USSR country (well, to be honest - in the Russia itself) and I can't use Paypal, only WebMoney (btw paypalsucks (http://www.paypalsucks.com/)). Yes, I can try to buy credit card with paypal support but this is pain in the *ss (really hard in Russia, impossible in my city).
Adding WebMoney support into Steam sounds good for me (I want to buy a HL anthology >_>).

Well any possible way to give steam money should be an acceptible request. Some people don't see how hard it is some times to transfer money.
Yandex.money...that sounds like a virus name
Yandex.money isn't that popular as WebMoney. Nobody cares about YM, coz there is exist a WebMoney.

No they aren't. They all use the same system: credit cards.
In a lot of countries you can't pay on steam without a credit card,
and in most of those same countries, people don't have a credit card.
Here in Belgium for example, it's not easy to buy games through steam.
That's why we need multiple online payment system.

You must remember that Valve is located in the U.S.
That's most likely the reason why they don't already accept payment options like WebMoney.
You must remember that Valve is located in the U.S
You must remember that Valve distributing their games in many countries, like Russia, Korea, etc.

Supporting different languages / paying for localosation of their games / hiring people from other countries
Why?

Though Blizzard is based in the USA too it implemented the WM support in WOW although players could simply buy activation cards in every computer shop throughout Russia...
BTW, 5 votes and the petition will make 1k.

I'll also love Ideal as a payment option(The most used online payment method used in the Netherlands. VERY SECURE). With Ideal you've to verify ownership of you're bank account with the system of te Specefic bank(ING uses Tan codes or a Calculator. Other banks uses Calculators).
Its a great system :)

Actually there's one story on no-steam.ru about "dealer" with nick leffko.
"Steam Dealer" in RUNET is the one who buys games using credit card and sells then these games as gifts to simple users for WMRs (WebMoney, Rouble) or WMZs (WebMoney, Dollar).
So Leffko sold VCPs (Valve Complete Pack) for 10-15 WMZ (!!!). On January 22, 2009 there was a BIIIG PROBLEM. All accounts which got sold gifts from leffko got banned and leffko himself went out of business. So now there's a real hunt in real life after Leffko.
That's why it'd be good for Valve to add WebMoney support to Steam.

MoscowGolem shows the actual checkout process where you can clearly see WebMoney as an option and you use an arbitrary screenshot that shows an outdated collection of accepted payment methods that nobody really checks anyway.
I fail to see what your argument is.

What do you have against WebMoney anyway?
And I have the WebMoney option in my payment lists AS WELL as on the logo of accepted payment methods.
So why are you choosing randomly outdated screenshots arguing that WebMoney isn't available?
