That's not entirely right. Alec, one of the developers of Aquaria said:

"Yeah, I don't know if Valve is interested anymore. They used to be talking to us, but now they haven't responded in a looong time."

and in a recent thread:

"I'm going to try again, with some help from Chris. I found some new contacts there, so I think we might have a shot."

and

"There's no reason why the game shouldn't be on Steam. I think we just need to demonstrate how much of a great fit it would be to them in a really clear way."

So it is accurate to say that there are no plans, but it is not the developers fault. They seem to be having trouble getting reliable communications with Valve.

I am a fan of Castle Crashers on the 360 so fully support a PC version showing up on Steam. Aquaria on the other hand I am a bit less intrigued by but with all its popularity I am sure it would be a great addition :)

So lets say thats a top 5 ;)

Zeno Clash to be released early next year
posted by dcalogue @ 10:26PM on October 16, 2008

We'd like to communicate to the gaming community that we have decided to push the release date of Zeno Clash to early next year. The studio will be aiming for a February release. We apologize to all the people who were expecting the game to be released this year, but the bright side of the delay is that the additional time we'll spend on the game will ensure that we deliver a quality experience, true to the expectations of our fans. Being an independant studio has allowed us to develop this game without external pressures, so we chose not compromise the game's quality by releasing this year.

We'd also like to announce another piece of interesting news: We're submitting Zeno Clash for next year's Independent Games Festival. We'll be eagerly awaiting for the finalists list that will come out in December. (http://steamcommunity.com/games/ZenoClash/announcements/detail/90196896158058153)

Aquaria seems to be too pricey really.

Aquaria is more evenly priced for the amount of content you get and a story based game with a full fledged editor. World of Goo is a lot of fun too but I feel like 20 bucks is too much for it, 15 or even 10 sounds much better...but then I bought it direct from 2D Boy for 20 already.

For Aquaria however, even though I already bought it directly, donated some money after a long awaited patch, I still purchased it yet again on Steam when it finally became available. And I don't at all feel like that was any money wasted.

If you like the recent crop of Castlevania games, and similar 2d shooters, you'll like Aquaria. It's an amazing game with a great story to tell, and tons to find and do.

Anywho, my vote goes for Braid, and t

Past comments by Blow indicated that the PC port of the time-bending title would show up on multiple distribution platforms, including Valve's Steam.

I still don't understand why Immortal Defense isn't on Steam, apparently Valve just won't answer the dev, it's a shame. :(

Here is the website (http://studioeres.com/immortal/), it is a really pretty tower defense game, even better than Defense Grid.

Also, the demo is extremely huge, like it lasts for a couple of hours if not more, everyone should try it! :D

I nominate Angels Fall First: Planetstorm (http://www.affuniverse.com/home/). I not only think this game looks incredible, I think Valve could really help these guys blossom by getting them to port it to the Half Life 2 Engine. It's a mod which seems to be a combo of Planetside, Homeworld and Eve Online but it needs work. I found one Youtube video here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9JwKbWoaUQ).

Headdesk.

There is so much wrong with this post, I don't even know where to begin. "Indie" has nothing to do with "work[ing] with all computers." And most certainly, "indie" does not, by any stretch of the imagination, necessarily mean "non-commercial" (and I have absolutely no idea where the "REPUBLICAN" thing came from).

Please learn what "indie" means, before making another post like that one. I hope that doesn't come across as rude, but your post was really over the top, man.

In fact, if you preorder the game directly from the developers, you will be able to download it not only directly from them, but you will also be able to activate the game on Steam (and Impulse, for that matter) at no extra charge. See this blog post for more information:

I played the demo for Llamasoft's newest game, Gridrunner Revolution. I think that it's absolutely hilarious and it is definitely easier to play and understand than Space Giraffe.

Gridrunner Revolution (http://www.llamasoft.co.uk/grintro2.php)

Strangely, while Space Giraffe is available on Steam, you can't get Gridrunner Revolution. I want to write to the developer asking why, but sadly, they have no e-mail address or contact information. The only form of communication that they allow is via registration on their forums, and I don't want to setup an account just so I can ask one question.

Why are they doing this ? Just to be a part of this greedy machine ? Developers should sell their own titles in their own online stores , and offer the CD key activation method as an optional on Steam ,Impulse ,GamersGate etc.

Yes, Minecraft is an indie game. It'll most likely be on Steam, since Notch, the developer of the game, has expressed a desire to have it on Steam when it's more complete and Notch was invited by Valve last month to visit their studio to discuss Minecraft, his future plans as a developer, and other business I guess.

Anyway, perhaps Jonas Kyratzes's games (http://www.jonas-kyratzes.net/games/)? I liked The Strange and Somewhat Sinister Tale of the House at Desert Bridge, and Phenomenon 32 (which is still due for some patchwork) is a platformer rather than an adventure game, but since all of them are free-to-play, that may pose troublesome for releasing them here. No Time To Explain (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1296948465/no-time-to-explain-indie-game)

It has time travel, dinosaurs riding other dinosaurs, and giant crabs. What else do you want?

I'd like Xonotic or Tremulous distributed over steam.

Yes.

Also, another Kickstarter initiative, Cthulhu Saves the World: Super Hyper Enhanced Championship Edition Alpha Diamond DX Plus Alpha FES HD - Premium Enhanced Game of the Year Collector's Edition (without Avatars!) (http://zeboyd.com/2011/03/14/cthulhu-saves-the-world-super-hyper-enhanced-championship-edition-alpha-diamond-dx-plus-alpha-fes-hd-premium-enhanced-game-of-the-year-collectors-edition-without-avatars-official-press-release/), is CONFIRMED FOR STEAM (http://zeboyd.com/2011/05/11/cthulhu-saves-the-world-heading-to-steam/). Prepare for the insanity (and Molly the Were-Zompire (http://zeboyd.com/2009/12/10/molly-the-were-zompire-is-now-on-xbox-live-marketplace/)).

Zombies, big-boobed women and lightsabers would certainly help aswell.

Grim Dawn (http://www.grimdawn.com/index.php)

After Titan's Quest released and Iron Lore Entertainment closed down, a new company was created by its former employees (Crate Entertainment).

Grim Dawn is still in development, but the devs are very active with the community. If Titan's Quest is any indication then Grim Dawn will be absolutely amazing.

Here are some early videos
