View Full Version : Using a ragdoll as a prop?
Is it possible to use a ragdoll as a prop (specifically, a prop_static) in a map? It'd be wonderful if it were possible, as right now, when I test the map, the ragdoll just disappears.

What? Prop static? Prop_Ragdoll with a valid ragdoll model will do it.

It would be amazing, if it would be possible to pose the ragdoll in hammer.
Like.. a corpse that sits on the chair, or lies on the ground.
But i guess, that it's not possible.

It can be tricky, but you have a few options:
Put in nodraw entities that you kill shortly after freezing the rag doll (turning it off)
And using physexplosion to throw the in a more natural manner.

As for the corpse disappearing, make sure you check the flags so that it is not set to do so.

yeah you can make ragdolls do stuff, I had one in a vat of toxic water being pushed around, it worked nicely.
Bear in mind if this for multiplayer that they cause huge performance overhead, so hide it in its own visleaf
