title is self explanatory.. just want to know from some people who have played this. I do love survival horror (silent hill and RE series) Looks similar, but i know its old. Comments?

It still looks and plays great, I would highly recommend it (maybe not for $20 though). Too bad no 1900*1200 :<<

It's alot of fun, believe it or not. Too many developers gave it a low rating because of it's ''blatant ripoff of RE4'', but it's a fun game. I just don't justify purchasing it for $20. I'd wait to see if the price drops or get it off eBay.

I think it's good fun. I got it during the x-mas sale, when it was 2,49€, now it's still only 4,99€ here.

Pretty good older game. I have never finished it due to the constant crashes my XP used to experiance and haven't reinstalled it yet on Vista to finsh. Good scares better controls than RE IMO. Not as many zombies though. Ship isn't that big. LOL


As long as a game was fun when it first came out, and you don't judge a game solely on graphics, I don't think any game is ever outdated.

great game if u can try to get in on console it plays SOMEWHAT better but is cheaper ive seen it for 4 bux i actually got it new for 10 dollars but of course i done scratched it and i was so close to passing it in on the hardest mode..(i dont remember the name its been to long)

It's Resident Evil 4 on a ship. If that sounds appealing, knock yourself out. ;)

One thing I really liked about this game were the weather effects: the storm sequences looked great.

Great game. Once I got into it I was pleasantly surprised by how fun it was. Kind of reminded me more of dead space than RE4 actually. Ending wasn't too shabby either, and how often can you say that you finished a game with an ending that satisfied? Not nearly often enough.

Recommended.

Cool, they had it at a used game store near my house for 5$, gonna have to pick it up then.

Personally I always liked Cold Fear better than RE4. RE4 to me totally lost the zombie survival feel of the predecessors. Yeah its good, but its not zombie survival horror anymore, just parasite survival horror.

One thing to note is controls take a little time to get used to. They change based on the camera. Once you realize that, you can adjust and you won't have issues with it.

on sale for five bucks or less, this is an awesome purchase. For ten bucks I would want a bit more, but I'm not a huge lover of survival horror so there you go. I got this on sale and definitely got my money's worth out of it.

you would probably have to run a virtual xp enviroment to run it like many older games

Ship isn't that big.
The oil rig isn't that big either. But CF is not L4D, it's not about hoards of zombies, it's about those rare ftw moments...:D

It took me about 8-9 hours to finish the game (according to my steam stats).

What's the game like? A survival type horror like Dead Space, or an action oriented type like FEAR?

It basically plays like Resident Evil 4/5 on a ship and oilrig in the middle of the sea. Control scheme is almost identical. Probably based on the same engine.

Not a bad game either. For the current price, it's at the very least worth a try.

Have not had an issue yet and am enjoying the game on sale for around 5 bucks.Good deal...IMHO!
