View Full Version : Vista x64 Drops to desktop, no error message

I can't get a game running. Anytime I start the game, a windowed version comes up (my desktop is at 1920x1200) and I am able to navigate the menus. But once I get into the first tutorial, all I see for a split second is my boat on the ocean board before it drops to my desktop and closes the application. No crash window, no error screen. What's the deal? Can I get a fix or refund?

System Specs:

nVidia GTX 295 on Forceware 182.50 drivers WHQL (stock speeds)

You will need to go to Microsoft's website and download the latest DirectX update manually. That should fix the CTD.

I have the same problem. It opens up a new window then shuts it down saying Age of Booty.exe has stopped working. I went and downloaded this
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3 but it did nothing. I am really confused but running Windows Vista 64 has turned out to be a nightmare.

Well, yes. Vista is a nightmare. Win 7, on the other hand, is what Vista ought to have been.

In any case. it's Capcom you should complain to/about, not Steam. Steam's just the store. Bug the manufacturer.
