can't find any news about it, you'd think EA would post something since it's only a month away

Not much information at all, if any. I do hope it comes to Steam.

me too ... but if they dont release it on steam i wont buy it!
the sims3 is already on presale in the ea shop ... please ea bring the sims games to steam, especially the sims 2 and 3
I have REALLY BAD experience with purchases over EA's own platform (EA Store) and will not, under any circumstances ever make any purchase from that service.
On Steam, however... my credit card is ready.

Maybe tomorrow or the next month, when EA see the map of digital download stores and find to Steam.

+signedI've boycotted all EA games (PC & Console) since they started introducing limited activations. Steam would have been a way to get my custom back but since I live in the UK it looks like they have lost all future custom from me. I currently own around 60 EA titles (including console & expansion packs) so thats a lot of furture money that they are going to lose from me.
If only more people would do the same!

Disappointing to sat the least.
Not to mention awkward, seeing as to how the majority of EA titles can all be found on Steam and it's pretty much just the sims franchise missing whilst the other digital distributors do have it up.

dude u wouldn't want sims 3 on steam lol have u seen how many problems it has being a non steam game and how buggy the launcher is lol plus the 3rd party software ea downloader that reinstalls itself constentaly and freezes up at times. have u ever tried to install sims 3 patches it terrible, gives u incompatable version errors when u do a fresh install with world crisis expansion its a joke btw for all u slow people cause it was a crap expansion and made me cry and wish for more its not a typo. i would love sims 3 achivments don't get me wrong there just to many negitives

All the problems you mentioned would not exist if it was downloaded & updated through Steam.

Impulse has it on sale for 50% off right now
I think I'll just buy it from them since it doesn't look like it's ever going to come to Steam

I swore to never buy another Sims game after buying the original and all of its expansions. Fool me once, as it were.
But The Sims 3 looks very fun. If they released it on Steam I would purchase it and every expansion and bit of DLC. Absolutely.

As long as it doesn't use EA Download Manager to update The Sims 3 (Apparently it doesn't update ALL the games which is the one of the main reasons for a "Base Game Incompatibility" error), I might buy it.
Also, it would be a horrible idea for those with Custom Content and forgot to disable Automatic Updates.

If it does, it wont come this year, sense the holiday season JUST started. Hopefully, soon though.
WHY IS THIS NOT FRACKING HERE YET, EA/STEAM?!

The Sims does seem to be EA's only high-profile franchise not available on Steam.
Steam already has Spore, Mass Effect, Battlefield, Medal of Honor, Command & Conquer, and Need for Speed - so why not the Sims 3? It could only help to broaden their sales.
Interesting play here, Riccitiello...

As long as it doesn't use EA Download Manager to update The Sims 3 (Apparently it doesn't update ALL the games which is the one of the main reasons for a "Base Game Incompatibility" error), I might buy it.It's due to the way the game works that it only needs the latest .exe updated. Updates for the latest .exe also include updates from any prior additions, so this is why prior .exes need not updated. Only the base game and your latest release you own will need updated. It's done to prevent having to download countless updates for each one. It saves on redundancy. The base game incompatibility error, I know about, but don't know what causes it.
Also, signed. I already own all of them from Direct 2 Drive though.

I could not believe it, but It's true.
US$ 79.99 in Australia only for The Sims 3 without expasions, crazy.

Took them long enough. $180 full price for the bundle? only $80 half off? Seems kind of steep if you ask me, especially since many of the extras you can hardly call expansions.
I will get this eventually, but the price has to come down a lot more. Maybe the summer or Christmas sale.
On that note I am glad EA finally put this on, now, if they would just put in their back catalog of PC games, I would be a happy gamer.

YOU BEAUTY !
Just bought Sims 3 Bundle <3 GOOD DEAL ! I still play on and off Sims 2 and I think need for Steam please. I so tired of need CD in the tray and take long time to install all with EP series plus each patches. Steam backup make much easy to install at all for once.
I didn't buy Sims 3 because of too many CD and EP and patches
