Let me guess, Vista. The game requirements say Windows2000/XP only.

EDIT: Can't speak for EIB but Hill30 works fine in vista so it probably is not that. Try doing what UND3AD said.

I'm using Vista 32-bit and it's working fine. Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood.

Go to it on your games list, right-click and select Properties. Go to the tab called Local Files, third button Verify integrity of game cache. That should check over all the files. If it detects any missing, it will download them automatically.

Hope this helps.

~The proper tweaking, almost anything can work for Vista, they just put that because they don't want the hassle of saying they support it's issues.

Also works fine on my vista 32-bit ultimate

I'm getting exactly the same problem, funny thing is, BIA:RTH30 works perfectly even though it's the older of the two!? I've tried all the suggestions in this thread, none work unfortunately. In case you haven't guessed, I'm running vista.

Any more ideas/solutions?

Stumbled on somthing that has stopped vistas unsigned driver alerts and has let all my old games play without trouble ,i downloaded and patched my old x3 reunion and was trying brothers in arms with vista still asking for f8 befor boot when i came here to learn if i updated the starforce drivers it would let BiA play, still expecting the f8 i thought i would put them on anyway but somehow the mix of patches and updates has stopped vista asking for enforcement to be turned off and put it running at peak efficiancy. im running 64 bit home premium on a quad 2.4 but i believ it will work for all vista os, let me know if you try it.

Try disabling User Account Control.

Start->Control Panel->User Accounts And Family Safety->User Accounts->Change User Account Control Settings->Set to "Never notify"

If the game still doesn't work, you can re-enable UAC if you wish.

I always had that problem trying to get EIB to work through the retail disc... I haven't tried to activate the steam game with the cdkey yet though. I figured that'd should solve my problem (in theory) since no cd check needs to be made with securom

It won't work. EiB's retail key can't be activated on Steam. (and the reason the retail version won't work on Vista/7 is because of StarForce)

It's not on the list of games that can be cd-key activated:

Updating to Vista Service Pack 2 worked for me.

I don't have Windows 7 yet so can't comment there.
