Can't install games [Archive] - Steam Users' Forums

This all happened a few weeks ago when I tried to buy a game off steam to play with my friend, basically what happens is I click "install game" but nothing happens. No error message, nothing. Now months later I try again to get Americas Army 3 and again nothing happens. There is probably a easy fix to this even though I can't find a solution.

Although there was a time when I could download games but this problem seemed to just randomly start. It would help if someone could give me advice that didn't include reinstalling steam.

Try cleanly reinstalling Steam (http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Cleanly_reinstalling_Steam).

If you follow guides, you won't need to re-download your games.

its not re-downloading my games. for example when I try to install americas army 3 it doesnt do anything no error message or anything when I click the "install game" button.
