Yes I am running this under Vista and the game itself works perfectly, but I only can't see the videos.
Is this a codecissiue? If yes, please tell me what codec I need to get.

thx

According to a sticky from Valve, apparently this game was never intended to run on vista.

i run it in vista and i can see the videos. i dont even run any advance options.

it might be your video card or the video card drivers causing the problem. i really dont know why it would work for me and not you though.

It's the Codec. I'd need to know what codec the videos use :)

You can download the required codec here: http://www.probo.com/cinepak.php

But for me the Vigil videos aren't working at all... :(

I found forcing windowed mode displayed videos for me, where full screen didn't (vista x64)

try alt+enter to window it

downside is, everytime there is a new level transition it goes full screen (just alt+enter it again)

Oh wow! This worked for me too (also on Vista x64)! To think that all this time with trying different things and nothing working, that something that simple fixed it.

Thanks for this!

Confirmed for Win7 32-bit ! Thanks for the heads up.

I've always wanted to play this, and with the STEAM holiday sale picked it up. Would have spent 15 bucks on this if I had more time on my hands back when it came out...

same issue here, videos only work when windowed, not full screen... still looking for the codecs, nothing found yet... :(

is it really so difficult to display some in-game videos on full screen??? what a shame...

Meridan should f**ken fix this, if they are going to continue selling the game.

If I go to windows mode the gme slows down to a low performance for some reason.
