This game could have been great. It could have been a new franchise instead they turned it into a quick cash-in. I had every intention of buying it until I learned that a) There would be no full campaign coop in ANY version of the game and b) no multiplayer at all in the PC version!
So post something to let them know how they sabotaged their own potential! Maybe if they see enough people saying the same thing they'll learn from their mistake.
Also, if they were to patch in full campaign multiplayer via DLC I would pay for the game AND the DLC (up to a total of $50.) For the complete package that all the hype made it sound like it was gonna be. Anyone else feel the same?

Nope. I bought the game 2 weeks ago, and finished it last night. I had a fun time playing it, and feel it was money well spent considering I could pay the same to see a 2 hour movie at a theater.
This game could have been great, you say. Have you even played it? It was a hell of a lot better than other cluster♥♥♥♥-ups Ive unfortunately bought in the past year (ie Prototype, Silent Hill Homecoming, etc) that had $50 price tags.

You didnt like Prototype? IMO that game is well worth the $50. A little short for an open world enviroment game but very fun and kept me going till the end

the MP isn't worth it, its just random co op game types.
it isn't even real co op or competition at all, its just random trash. Its good for maybe 5 minutes of laughs before your realize how bored you really are.
the games fine without the MP IMHO.
if it ever had REAL co op, as in campaign, that'd be a dif story, but TMK the Wii version is the only one with that.

I grew up with Ghostbusters and was really looking forward to buy this game. BUT(T):
1. Steam: "The game is currently unnavailable in your region." :WTF?!
3. The game will be available in my region approximately in 3 long f*cking months! :WTF!
2. It lacks ANY form of multiplayer (I thought at least the coop would be there!) :OH,F!
4. There is no PC demo to try out :WTF?!
5. By the looks of the forums the game is pretty f*ckedup anyway.
Conclusion: "WTF?!" I instantly lost any interest in this product. Maybe if I hear somewhere: "Hey, did you know that the ghostbusters game got all patched up and optimised recently with a huge new DLC with MP added? Its som much more fun now!" (yes, its sarcasm...) I may look into it again....
Verdict: REAL SHAME this one.... :/

I was thinking about getting this, but with no MP and the bugs I hear about... I'm going to pass for now.

Am I understanding you correctly that there is no real co--op say like in Gears or RE5 where you could play through the whole campaign together with a friend? Bummer, I was going for the 360 version over the PC just for the ability to play co-op which is saying a lot since I usually don't do MP very often.

How about a thread for those of us who purchased it precisely because it was $20 cheaper due to NOT having multiplayer?

I ended up buying the game off steam and wow it was great. I'd like to try MP, but the game was worth the 30$ price tag for what I got. Amazing VO, Story, and Gameplay. A little Linear but still a fun 9 hour romp in the GhostBusters Universe. I'm definately glad I bought it. I played the game in one sitting and my comp crashed once after the junior slor cut scene to the boat cut scene. I'd buy another game from this company for sure.

Well I am renting the 360 version and playing on the hardest difficulty(second time through) and haven't even bothered with trying out the MP yet, thats how important that is to me. This game really rocks on SP for me. I will definitely buy it for PC.
EDIT: I agree Anson2100 I think got somewhere in the range of 9-10 hours out of it on easy and not knowing what to do. I thought it might speed up a little after the first play through but Professional might not be the cake walk I thought it was going to be! I've already died 3 times in the first visit to the hotel so far.:D I think I only died a sum total of twice duing the whole game on easy and it was those damn stone cheubs that got me.

I passed on getting the game due to lack of multiplayer and watched the video walkthrough online. Atari, you lose.

Absolutley passed on it due to lack of multi-player. I might buy it when it hits $10 - even at $20 it just doesn't call to me. I am loathe to support it at all - I appreciate the devs being up front and admitting that they were making a console game more than a PC game.
That said, I really do not want to support that attitude. Would have been better to have never released a PC version.

I still won't play even for free. Bugs, no multiplayer, etc. Already saw the single player video walkthrough online.

You guys must realize that the multiplayer part of it, in the xbox 360 and PS3, everyone i've asked said wasn't good at all, if it's going to be that way, then i much rather pay less, and not have the multiplayer

I never played the multiplayer, but have seen video clips of it. How is it bad? It looks like fun to me.
One thing about PC port, people could mod it to make it better or different.

Ghostbusters was obviously designed to be played co-op. Dealing with the pants-on-head-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ AI just kills any notion buying this game for me.

i'm unsure i'm just going by what everyone (i work at blockbuster) has told me, they have all said that they loved the single player but the multiplayer was a joke

It's currently 66% off due to the sale and I still ain't buying it.
I find it literally insulting that they cut out the multiplayer for the PC version.
Quite obviously they don't write these games on playstations and xboxes so it would be far easier to add multiplayer to the pc version. So logically they must have either saved a few pennies not developing that final component or just plain crippled the option.
They couldn't PAY ME to play this game, seriously.

I also noticed no patches. Aren't there major bugs in PC port? No patches made since the release?

They don't, but they're written FOR those consoles. The code has to be ported from the lead SKU to work on the other platforms, as most developers don't code for each system independently. Pray that you never have to deal with a PS3 dev kit, they're almost as bad as NDEVs. Anyway, multiplayer was half-assed on the console, it's likely for the best that they just removed it from the PC version.
I didn't bother picking it up until this sale. It's a fun game, definitely worth picking up for <$7. I couldn't see multiplayer working very well for this, anyway. It's more about the story than anything else.

I passed on it for $4 during the Summer sale because of the omission of the co-op component that the console versions got and the PC didn't. How do you make a PC game and NOT have MP when the console versions had it? Completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
In the end, I bought it used on the PS3 for $9. I'm generally a stickler for buying new to support game makers, but publishers won't get my support until they choose to support me.

I just finished the game, and I was checking some info about Ghostbusters 3 probably following the premise of Extreme Ghostbusters, and though...
"Why didn't make Ghostbusters like a Extreme Ghostbusters version of Borderlands?"
It would have been awesome!
Party of 4, vehicles, free roaming, both primary and secondary missions, challenges, drops you can use to improve your equipment (and achievements in console). And endless re-playability!
It would have been awesome! Awesome, I tell you.
And if the videogame followed the Extreme Ghostbusters idea, one of the successors would be a goth chick!
A GHOT CHICK WITH A PROTON RAY!
Oh, gods... all we an do is dream...

If you didn't buy this game for whatever reason then you're missing out big time.
I bought it during a sale, knowing absolutely nothing about it and not expecting much, and it turned out to be one of the most awesome gaming experiences I've ever had.
It is now one of my favorite games, and I hope desperately for a sequel.
To me this game ranks right up there with Half-Life 2 (which is my favorite game of all time). It's got humor and great voice acting, a huge variety of ghosts, fully destructible environments, it's just plain awesome.

I didnt pass on it. Actually, I purchased both the PC and Xbox versions.
I thought the game was great. MP would have been a plus though, and I am sad that I didnt get to cross the streams with my friends. AHEM.
