Considering getting the package due to weekend deal.
Wanted to know if the single player experience is worth it on all three games....
I'm usually not into huge amount of tactics and im all about controls. Reviews look good, but bascially looking for a little advice on how it plays. I am seriously short on cash or i would get the first one and try, but financially it makes sense to get all 3 ...
Liked
Crysis
Call of Juarez 1 and 2
Call of Duty
Bioshock
Prey
Fallout 3
Halflife
Deus Ex
Far Cry 1 and 2
Dark Messiah
Think I'll Like this?
All responses welcome and thanks for quick replies.

Ok the BiA games are not your most arcady shooters you die fast if you stay out of cover for long. The game is about using tactics with your squads to Flank or supress or even charge the enemies. It's not so heavy on the tactics side that it looses any shooting fun. It has a pretty good cover system, not the best but it gets the job done.
But the best thing about the games is it actually makes you feel close to the people you are together with and it's amazingly fun to play.
This applies to all 3 but the graphics and gameplay gets better as the games go along.
The games go in this order. Road to hill 30, Earned in Blood, Hells Highway.
I hope this helped you decide
I played the demo along time ago. Id say if you like call of duty youd like bia. Might wanna check out some videos on youtube

Considering that this is a WWII game the story for this game has alot more to it than other games in the FPS genre but if you want to get the best out of the story play the prior games this add alot more depth to what is already a an amazing true story.

The single played in BIA is what the game is about.
It is not like an average FPS. You have to take the time to come up with a plan. You have to use your team mates to pin enemy troops down so you can flank, stuff like that.
If you enjoyed the single player Campaign in Crysis you will enjoy this. Although it is completely different, the importance of how you approach your enemy is close to the same.

Lol, BIA is nothing like Call of Duty, it's completely different, just because it's based in the same time-era does not mean the gameplay is the same, Call of Duty is just your average run of the mill shooter where you charge in guns blazing, with BIA on the other hand, it actually takes some thinking, and you have to do more to keep yourself alive.
Anyway back on topic, I have only ever completed the first but I have to say the game was great, it was much more immersive and the story was so grabbing.
Focusing on tactics more than shooting people in the face really made it unique, it's great you should get it, but don't expect Call of Duty.

+1 sp00nFaCe :)
Yea the only links between BIA and COD are WW2 and FPS. the game play its self is VERY diffrent but its fantastic.

It depends. First two games were squad tactics oriented, even if somewhat artifical way, because your accuracy was ridiculously low. Hell's Highway is a more standard console shooter in the vein of Gears of War and Rainbow Six: Vegas. Still, all games aren't Call of Duty clones by any means. It's one of the few military FPSes with really strong, character-driven narrative.

I picked from his list the one that best represented the game. Things it has in common mostly is that its linear, just like call of duty. The enemies remain in one place pretty much and are very scripted, a lot like call of duty. its an fps. They have a lot in common.
Call of duty had a good story as well if you ask me. Good cutscenes. BIA was good but it had some bad flaws in the story. If your members died theys still show up alive and well in the next cutscene. You could be holding a pistol, and in the cutscene youll be holding the rifle. Broke immersion for me but the story was good

I do remember in the first two, the enemy would occasionally try and flank you, but I believe it was also scripted.
The game is also very challenging (the first two, at least), mid campaign you really have to think things out.
But compared to most WWII shooters, this one stands out from the crowd, story wise and gameplay wise.

It's my favourite game along with Left 4 Dead. It's pretty long compared to most games, I love the graphics, love the gameplay and the story was pretty good as well, very likeable puberty soldiers, very realistic everything, and awesome that Hells Highway plays in my home country Holland!
THE PROBlem is.......it is only ever 3-8 maximum allies against the same amount of enemies. Operation market garden the largest airbourne operation of all time, you get no sense of this whatsoever in hells highway, same old BIA,(I have played the previous 2 twice through each being a sucker for ww2 games) a little squad against a little squad, all the way through. It's actually way more linear and scripted than call of duty 1,2 and 4.
they are ok games but imo overated. realistic my ♥♥♥.

I'm playing through Hill 30 and Earner in Blood and they're both very good. The games have a very somber mood.
The one glitch is the resurrection of squad members but I can't think of what they could have done to resolve this except to make every squad member generic (which would have created its own problems) or calculated out the maximum number of squad members and replacements who could get killed in the game and program personality routines for all of them which might have increased production costs for the game.
I like its focus on tactics and the fact that weapons are not super accurate. Despite what some people have found, I've found the iron sights to work fine.
Frankly, the gameplay and experience in this game is what I thought I would be getting when I got the first Call of Duty. Don't get me wrong - I enjoyed working my way through Call of Duty but in many ways, it was a pretty traditional FPS just dressed up in ♥♥♥♥ uniforms.
